C’è una prometeica forza nelle opere di Sergio Davanzo che riconduce, con la certezza del segno e lo schiaffo del colore, ad un confronto con la realtà che non conosce compromessi o debolezze.
L’artista non abbassa lo sguardo e davanti all’esistenza egli si assume il diritto di dichiarare la verità. Lo fa attraverso un linguaggio visivo essenziale, sintetico, corrosivo, violento, titanico, provocatore. Usa la titolazione dei suoi quadri come dei tazebao: sono verdetti che illuminano, parole che possono essere incipit quanto sentenza lapidaria su un argomento che la tela sintetizza in linee di immediata intuizione, con un uso dirompente dell’elemento cromatico, con tinte che acquistano voce. Davanzo riesce a far riecheggiare nel movimento dei suoi quadri le vibranti intensità del paradosso creativo, in bilico tra ragione e gesto puro ed istintivo, folgorazioni che sono rivelazioni e universalità

There is a prometeica forces in the works of Sergio Davanzo that it brings back, with the certainty of the sign and the slap of the color, to a comparison with the reality that doesn't know compromises or weaknesses.
The artist doesn't lower the look and in front of the existence he is assumed the right to declare the truth.
It does it through an essential visual language, synthetic, corrosive, violent, provocative.
