Marie Antoinette, the illustrious Queen of France, is dreaming that her unborn child is facing the guillotine. At the same time, the child is being nourished by macarons, Marie Antoinette's favorite sweets, through the umbilical cord. The setting is a marital bed, but the scene takes a macabre turn with the arrival of the Reign of Terror, a symbol of the French Revolution. The walls are painted in blood, and there are no windows or escape routes from this nightmare. Meanwhile, Marie appears to sleep peacefully, yet a deep, alarming unease grows within her.
