This is an area in the forest known as Gribskov, where people rarely pass, even though eight paths meet there. This paradox attracted Kierkegaard, who would often hire a country carriage in Copenhagen to get to the Gribskov and sit for hours "by the eight paths on which no one travels" to meditate and reflect, and then return home to write down his thoughts.
